Details

At the start, Daffodill sees the total count of purples, golds and reds. Put this number into [Daffodill board value estimate] in the Combo Finder's Settings and you get the average board value and the chance of each value range for similar boards, along with the expected count per rarity — roughly how many purples, golds and reds and what they're worth, and, if you open [Show details], how likely each Purple count is and the gold and red counts at that point. It's a strategy that sets the board price on evidence from 1R.

1R — check board size and high-value ones. See random identities from the whole board with Collectible (Small) on 2. If they come up low on the board (row 11 or below), it's a big board; near the top, a small board — adjust the estimated average up or down accordingly. If reds or golds show, add their value. Bid around 40% of the estimated average in 1R.

2R — estimate the board price. Don't set the purple count from the Purple total alone — purple collectibles range in value from the low thousands to over 10k, so dividing the total by the average for one purple (about 6,000 in the Coral Hall) is off by more than 2 nearly half the time. Hold that estimate up against the calculator's chance-by-Purple-count table — among the rows near your estimate, take the gold and red counts of the most likely row as this board's. If your estimate is far from the table's common rows, it's a board where expensive (or cheap) purples are bunched, so trust the common rows more. Check the range of purple counts that produce that total with the Combo Finder's [Purple total], and look only at rows within that range to narrow it further.

3R — branch. If your estimated gold + red is 10 or more (the Coral Hall norm is around 8), it's a board to commit on — see red locations with Rarity (Small), recalibrating your estimate by whether the reds show up in the expected count; if fewer, check only high-value shapes with Size (Small).

4R — on a commit board, check red shapes with Size (Small); on an ordinary board, see red locations with Rarity (Small) only if there's a high-value clue, otherwise fold here.

5R — with gold + red of 10 or more, commit within the estimated average. But if a high-value clue shows — a 3×2 silhouette, a red color, etc. — you can commit regardless of the count.
