Use the Gem device set (10k) to see the colors of the Gem 3×1 and 1×1 silhouettes Hotori opened — a red 3×1 means the Stringblade (8.99M) for sure; a red 1×1 is either the Eternal Heart or the Teardrop

Details

At the start of each of 1R–3R, Hotori shows every silhouette of one type not yet opened, with the type attached. The Stringblade (8.99M) is a Gem 3×1, and the only Gem 3×1s are the Stringblade (red) · the Crown Called Nobility (gold, 18k) · one green. So on a board where Gem has opened, just knowing the color of the 3×1 silhouette tells you right away whether it's the Stringblade.

The Gem device set's Gem Rarity reveals colors only on Gem collectibles. Use it in the round Hotori opens Gem, and the 3×1 and 1×1 silhouettes are likely to get colored. If the 3×1 is red, the Stringblade is confirmed — bet right away in that round (Coral 3–4M · Pearl 4–6M). Bet safely, hoping nobody else saw it, and if others raise along with you, follow toward the full price.

A red Gem 1×1 is one of two: the Eternal Heart (1.31M) or the Teardrop (50k). About 43% of red Gem 1×1s were the Eternal Heart. In the Coral Hall the Eternal Heart is rare, so probe with 500–800k and go above 1.5M once it's confirmed; in the Pearl Hall, keep it around 600k until it's confirmed.

If Gem doesn't open by 3R, the Stringblade search becomes extra upside — use Gem Rarity on 3 random Gems from the whole board, and otherwise bet only as much as the board value.
