Recommended conditions

Pearl Hall + plenty of funds (10M+ recommended). Assumes rerolling — running many boards while you wait for a Pendragon board. Even when it isn't the Pendragon, the Little Oink Bank and the new 1.4 reds cut your losses.

Details

The Pendragon (Pendragon Model, 20.17M) is a Daily Goods 5×5. There are only two Daily Goods 5×5s — the other is the Little Oink Bank (500k) — so the moment Hotori's ability opens Daily Goods, the candidates narrow to two.

If Daily Goods opens in 1–3R and there's no 5×5 among them, there is no Pendragon on this board — save Collectible (Special) and drop. A 5×5 that turns up as Tech (Orrery) or Food (Definitely-Fished-This-Myself Fish) isn't the Pendragon either. Collectible (Special) reveals the largest collectible on the board, so using it on that 5×5 means paying to look at a trap you already know about.

If a Daily Goods 5×5 shows, reveal its identity with Collectible (Special) that round. If it's the Pendragon, go all-in at 5–6M; if it's the Little Oink Bank, set a 500k floor and read the board value in the order top-price detection → red detection → lock in color + silhouette.

1.4 note: by generator estimates, about 8% of Pearl Hall boards have a Daily Goods 5×5, and about 3% of those are the Pendragon. Measured in 1.4, the Pendragon has shown up on 0 of 140 Pearl Hall boards — rather than rerolling for the Pendragon alone, you lose less by also picking up the Little Oink Bank and the new reds (Cloudveil Cup 500k, etc.).
